Relocation assistance
The Dean is appointed and reports to the Executive Dean of Nursing. The school Dean provides leadership and counsel to faculty, staff, and students. The Dean monitors trends in nursing education, participates in research, and ensures adherence to state and federal regulation and maintains accreditation standards. He/she collaborates with leadership in handling issues such as admission, performance, crisis management, policy implementation, and programmatic evaluation.
Duties and Responsibilities
Manages administrative functions in the MFSON program.
- Participates in the management of campus operations and resources.
- Advising students in nursing program.
- In working with the Executive Dean, the Dean ensues faculty and staff resources are adequate to administer the nursing programs.
- Participates in scholarly activities specific to the assigned nursing discipline.
- Contributes to college strategic initiatives and participates in Success Educations Colleges long-term planning and policy setting.
- Encourages faculty to continue professional development with Professional Development resources available to them.
- Collaborates with Executive Dean on operational and capital budgeting.
- Provides ongoing mentorship and advisement in developing and implementing evaluation and review systems for faculty, courses, and programs.
- Ensures that faculty and staff work to implement program recruitment and retention plans
- Works with Corporate Finance Department on annual budget including operational and capital budget expenses for nursing department.
- Assumes duties of Executive Dean of Nursing when necessary.
- Attends General Faculty, Curriculum, and Evaluation Committees.
- Responsible for review of all course syllabi for compliance with college guidelines and external standards
- Oversees recruitment and enrollment of students.
- Oversees coordination of student clinical placement.
- Assist with regulatory matters
- Responsible for the orientation and mentoring of new faculty members

Qualifications
EDUCATION AND EXPERINCE
- Master’s degree in Nursing from an accredited institution. Must possess current valid California R.N. license.
- Must meet the requirements of the Assistant Director as deemed by the Board of Registered Nursing.
- Completed advanced courses in the field of nursing education, including courses in administration, principles of teaching, supervision, and curriculum planning.
- Minimum of three years’ experience as an R.N., at least one year in teaching or clinical supervision within the past five years.
