The role: 

The Manager, Diversity, Equity, & Inclusion reports to the Vice President, Diversity, Equity, & Inclusion and is responsible for supporting the DE&I team on a wide variety of projects and initiatives. The Manager will have the opportunity to work across all of Suffolk’s DE&I programs, providing strategic support, organization, and related contributions. The Manager will help the Directors of the various DE&I programs by developing reports, KPIs, and related metrics and data tools that can be leveraged to improve the programs execution and efficiency.  

Responsibilities

  • Manage the Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion teams' data and performance systems.  
  • In partnership with the team develop key tools that can be used to share information across various Suffolk departments – including working with the Director, Disadvantaged Business Procurement, and the Director, National Trade Partner Diversity to develop a database of historically disadvantaged businesses and match those businesses with key project leaders across the business.  
  • Working with the Director, National Trade Partner Diversity help to coordinate an 8-week businesses accelerator program for targeted historically disadvantaged businesses.  
  • In partnership with the team, develop and support the execution of the IDEA Framework (internal DE&I goals) by tracking performance against goals and providing appropriate reports around performance to business leaders, the Director, DE&I, and the VP, DE&I.  
  • Provide strategic support to the entire DE&I team by working on the highest priority team initiatives and supporting team programs that require additional bandwidth. 
  • Help the team develop materials and work product that showcases the company’s wide variety of DE&I offerings.  

Qualifications

  • 3-5 years' experience in the construction industry or ACE, with a strong preference for an individual who has worked at the project level.  
  • Strong organizational skills with a willingness to work flexibly on multiple projects at once.  
  • Eagerness to learn new skills and take on new tasks.  
  • Experience supporting multiple programs and leaders at once, while helping to coordinate the work of those various leaders into a coherent overall report and narrative.  
  • Passion for working on topics of DE&I in the ACE industry.  
  • Experience working in a fast paced team environment

Working Conditions

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit for long periods of time; talk or hear; perform fine motor, hand and finger skills in the use of a keyboard, telephone, or writing. The employee is frequently required to stand; walk; and reach with arms and/or hands. Specific vision abilities include close vision, distance vision, depth perception and the ability to adjust focus. The employee will spend their time in an office environment with a quiet to moderate noise level. Job site walking.
