Sugar Bowl is seeking an experienced Journeyman-level or Master Lift Maintenance Mechanic. This Full-Time, Year-Round position will join the Lift Maintenance team as a senior member of the department and will coordinate and conduct work relating to preventative scheduled maintenance and unscheduled maintenance activities on our ski lifts.

Who you are

  • Minimum of 5 years of Lift Maintenance experience
  • Must meet at minimum Lift Maintenance Journeyman Mechanic requirements
  • Ability to lead and perform routine, emergency and preventative lift maintenance activities
  • Team player
  • Able to climb towers and work at heights
  • Able to work outside all environments/conditions
  • Must consider safety a high priority
  • Valid driver’s license
  • Able to lift 50 pounds
  • Ability to work in a sometimes high stress, challenging environment
  • Must consider courtesy and safety high priorities
  • Self-starter who can determine on own what needs to be done

What you will do

  • Ensure a safe and efficient lift system for all resort guests.
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of maintenance programs and capital projects.
  • Take a lead role in troubleshooting and repair of assigned lift machinery.
  • Actively involved in lift mechanical emergency procedures and time-dependent repairs.
  • Document repairs, labor and materials accurately on work orders.
  • Coordinate the timely opening, service of and closing of all lifts.
  • Perform and take lead on summer and winter preventative maintenance programs that include inspection of work performed to maximize lift safety and reliability
  • Assure that all required records are maintained and kept up-to-date, including all mechanical and operational procedures, logs, lift failures, incidents, and downtime logs.
  • Be an advocate for the Company mission, vision and policies. Protect the Company assets.
  • Coordinate maintenance response to lift incidents. Assist Patrol and/or Lift Operations with the completion of Incident Reports
