Position Description:
The Associate Financial Planner will apprentice under and assist our senior advisors throughout the financial planning process, from discovery to implementation. The Associate Financial Planner will help gather and analyze financial information to build, present, execute, and monitor financial plans.
The Associate Financial Planner will also assist in direct client service activities, including carrying out client service requests, client check-ins, and general communications. The focus of these activities is to help enrich the client experience and add value through increased service and support, freeing up valuable time for our senior advisors where they can concentrate their efforts on deepening client relationships and new client acquisition.
Functional Roles & Responsibilities:
- Help senior advisors prepare for meetings by working with clients and prospects in gathering financial information regarding their goals, assets, liabilities, insurance, estate planning, tax, and more.
- Complete financial planning executive summaries, create Money Guide reports from Money Guide Elite, and video delivery for clients and prospects.
- Become the expert in financial planning software in creating a superior client experience.
- Assist senior advisor in post-meeting tasks such as notes, CRM updates, follow up.
- Assist financial planning department in entering plan data into the needed software.
- Work with the trading department to carry out trading tasks.
- Become efficient in back-office duties including account transfers, systematic withdrawals, account maintenance.
- Engage retirement plan participants of our defined contribution plans with on-site education and planning meetings.

Education Requirements and Industry Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in financial planning, business, finance, or comparable
- 1 -3 years of experience in the financial planning field is preferred
- Preferred candidate will have or will be working toward earning the Certified Financial Planner (CFP) designation

- Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, & Teams) and Adobe Acrobat
- Web Conferencing Platforms (Teams, Zoom, etc.)
- CRM Platforms (Salesforce)
- Portfolio accounting systems (Black Diamond)
- Money Guide financial planning software
- Risk Assessment software (Tolerisk)
- Fidelity Institutional custodial platform (Wealthscape)
