Overview:
We are seeking a highly organized and motivated individual to join our team as a Program Coordinator. Develop, coordinate, and execute the day-to-day operational activities of a defined program of suicide prevention awareness. The activities will support the goal of eliminating the option of suicide as a solution for escaping depression, bullying, divorce, unemployment, loneliness, mental illness, or any other cause for hopelessness. The programs (outreach and presentations) will be presented in the workplace, schools, retirement homes, service clubs, faith-based facilities, and community events/facilities (such as health fairs.) Several critical focus points will be suicide awareness and prevention skills, building of resilience and coping skills, and achievement and maintenance of mental wellness.
Set up the following criteria:
· Continuing identification of the problems associated with suicide in local communities.
· Ongoing research of key risk factors contributing to suicide ideology.
· Application of intervention methods applicable to the problems and risk factors identified.
· Employment of an evaluation plan to determine success and improvement needs.
· Evaluation of results and improvement of methods for continued success; reduction of the devastating loss of life across all ages.
· Responsible for monthly reports applicable to the scope of work.
· Needs assessment, data collection and analysis as required by grants, foundation awards, and community funding guidelines.
Adherence to grant processes and procedures, budget control, program implementation and administration, program marketing, and reporting is required.
May be responsible for planning and implementation of fundraising and awareness events and other duties assigned related to the operation of Suicide Prevention Network.
Qualifications
Must operate as a results-oriented professional with highly developed interpersonal, communication, organization, and prioritization skills.
· Interpersonal skills include collaborating in an inclusive way with a multicultural and diverse population, as well as embracing a team player style of coordinating efforts with other members of the team while striving for a common goal. Creativity required to be effective in outreach to community.
· Communication skills, both written and verbal, include being an articulate writer with good proofreading skills; a confident and articulate speaker, as well as an attentive and empathic listener; a strong, effective, and passionate presenter.
· Must be a self-starter with highly developed organization and prioritization skills, including project and task planning, developing strategies, coordinating resources, identifying problems and their possible solutions, detailed documentation, time management skills required to work independently in an effective manner to meet deadlines.
· Must have good computer skills.
· Will maintain and exhibit a professional demeanor, an outgoing, positive, and engaging personality, as well as personal integrity and credibility at all times.
