Components Planner

Position Summary: Responsible for developing a weekly component production schedule that meets customer delivery and quality standards, while making the most efficient use of time and resources.

Reports to: Production Control Manager

Essential Functions/Duties:

• Develop/modify the weekly production schedule based on business center monthly plan.
• Implements Engineering Design (Spec Change and Development Trials) Changes within the Business Center.
• Plans, schedules, monitors the movement of materials throughout the production cycle. Review material supply and demand at all levels of the Bill of Materials. Ensures Work Order Accuracy across all levels of the Bill of Materials.
• Provides visibility of potential supply constraints and balances the schedule accordingly.
• Works with Manufacturing, Engineering, and Customer Service to ensure capacity requirements are met and production schedules are in accordance with customer orders and safety stock levels.
• Maintains inventory and item - PFEP – Plan for Every Part.
• Engages in cross-functional interactions to identify process problems and offer solutions.
• Communicates production schedules to all levels of the organization.
• Makes recommendations regarding open shift requirements.
• Develops a production schedule that makes the most efficient use of time and resources while meeting customer delivery and quality standards.
• Maintains Inventory Accuracy records by working with inventory control on daily cycle counts, reconciling count discrepancies, and fixing root cause.
• Identifies and helps resolve bottlenecks, parts shortages, machine maintenance, work force, and shop capacity issues.
• Analyzes and measures the current production status. Provides feedback to production areas on planned vs. actual.
• Ensures accurate SAP demand is loaded for MRP.
• Enters and maintains material master accuracy in SAP and related production control systems.
• Is committed to and promotes "Excellence Through Teamwork" throughout the organization.
• Design and create a scheduling tool that connects our production scheduling processes at every WIP level.
• Improve the Monthly to Weekly to Production Planning and Scheduling process.

Required Qualifications, Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

• AAS in Business, Supply Chain, or other related field of study; experience considered in lieu of degree.
• Minimum 3-year inventory control/scheduling work experience including experience with physical inventory processes.
• Excellent math skills, with the focus on accuracy & speed
• Demonstrated ability to plan, coordinate, and prioritize work requirements.
• Excellent written and verbal interpersonal communication skills
• Solid PC skills utilizing Microsoft Excel & Word software applications.
• Strong analytical, organizational, decision making, and presentation skills.
• Knowledge of SAP or other inventory management/scheduling software is preferred.
• Strong attention to detail.
