Summary/Objective:

Under the general supervision of the Processing & Applications Manager, the Plastic Molding Technician follows directions to set up, maintain, and operate plastic injection molding machines to prepare them for molding plastic parts or products. This person will also be responsible for providing excellent customer service at all times to assist customers with any and all processing troubleshooting needs.

Core Functions/Duties:

• Sets up plastic injection molding machines.
• Prepares machine parts for installation consisting of plumbing, electrical (main power hookup).
• Participates in training opportunities as required.
• Shadows mechanical and software engineers to learn functionality of software on machines.
• Provides hands-on and verbal training in the areas of process optimization and uses the machine controller for internal associates and/or customers as needed.
• Maintains plastic injection molding machines.
• Transfers molds from one machine to another.
• Adjusts velocity on machines.
• Performs setup operations as requested.
• Troubleshoots injection molding machines.
• Loads software and/or other requests made by engineers to prepare for tests or molds.

Qualifications

Education/Experience:

• High school diploma or equivalent required; Bachelor’s degree in Engineering preferred.
• Minimum 6 years’ demonstrated experience in processing

Salary : $65,000 - $75,000
