POSITION SUMMARY:  The Purchasing & Inventory Manager reports to the Director of Contracts:  Responsible for the purchasing, inventory control and shipping & receiving include putting in place a supply chain system; implements and maintains all processes related to the internal and external procurement of all materials, parts, supplies and services required at minimum cost, consistent with delivery requirements and quality specifications; operates in compliance with company safety practices and performs other duties as assigned.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
  1. Establishes procedures to accomplish procurement of a variety of materials in a cost effective manner.
  2. Monitors performance and capabilities of vendors to insure maintenance of delivery, quality and price commitments.
  3. Negotiates pricing for long term supplier agreements.
  4. Participates in cross-functional teams to drive productivity and improved service.
  5. Interacts with all other departments to ensure smooth internal working transitions.
  6. Ensures that all Quality Procedures and Work Instructions are being followed and updated as necessary.
  7. Responsible for all materials management to include Part 145 MRO Repair station leadership and support, USG DoD & Non-DoD material management such as maintenance of the Government Property System, implementation of a joint supply chain policies and procedures.
  8. Instituting and centralizing all material management.
  9. Driving cost reductions.
  10. Developing and maintaining an inventory management system with min and max levels by analyzing part demands and planning/forecasting.
  11. Instituting and maintaining a subcontract management process.
  12. Revenue generation through over the counter parts sales
  13. Ensures a thorough process lean planning and scheduling.
  14. Support the Bid/No-Bid and RFQ/RFP Process.
  15. Develops all personnel assigned to their organization.
  16. Assist in the preparation of weekly and monthly operations reports and financial reporting.
  17. Perform all other duties and assignments as requested by Management.
DIMENSIONS
 
  1. Assists in development of all personnel assigned to their organization.

SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE
 
  1. Bachelor’s Degree in a business related function preferred but not required.
  2. Three to five years of experience in Supply Chain required.
  3. Three to five years managerial experience preferred.
  4. CPIM Certified is highly desired.
  5. Required to obtain a security clearance.
  6. Ability to work in a high profile position and have exceptional Customer Service skills both internally and externally.
  7. Strong written and oral communication skills to all levels of the organization
  8. Maintain confidentiality as appropriate.
  9. Detail oriented, and able to work in a multitasked, fast-paced environment.


Physical Requirements:  This position requires the ability to work in seated or standing positions for prolonged periods of time, perform office and clerical duties including use of office tools.

Working Environment:  The working environment is corporate office facility and shop floor.  Daily contact with employees in other departments is required.
