What are the responsibilities and job description for the Technician - Shop position at Summit Companies?
Summit Fire Protection is a premier firm in the Fire Protection and Fire Life Safety industry with offices throughout the United States. At Summit Companies we provide services designed to protect buildings, assets, and most important people.
We are currently seeking a Shop Tech/Warehouse Associate for our xxx location.
Essential Functions:
- Staging project materials for accurate deliveries.
- Maintain shelving with organized materials respective to their part numbers and product types.
- Working with administrative team members to accurately maintain inventory levels
- Participate in annual company inventories.
- Maintaining accurate packing lists and packing list filing.
- Picking up, receiving or loading of fire alarm, fire sprinkler pipe, and devices with some truck driving.
- Help keep shop and fire alarm holding areas clean and safe from hazards.
- Be courteous to our service techs, co-workers, and wholesale customers.
- Perform Hydro testing and extinguisher re-fills.
- Assist our mobile service techs with their routes.
Job Requirements:
- Some Knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Outlook or equivalent
- Valid MN state Driver’s license
- Operate Forklift
- Must be able to stand for long periods of time. You will be on your feet all day with the exception of morning and afternoon breaks and lunch
- Need to be able to work with hand tools.
