We currently have an opening for a Model Developer/Validator to lead a variety of econometric and statistical modeling and model validation tasks. The successful candidate will critically evaluate models, identify test procedures, and implement ideas to validate modeling and analytical capabilities both as a hands-on individual contributor and as an internal and external advocate of best practices.

- Lead tasks as part of a team managing various portfolios, supporting the design, structure, execution, and evaluation of federal programs
- Be part of a team that responds to and organizes staff in response to client requests
- Gain insights and take feedback from clients to improve the quality of day-to-day work and deliverables
- Lead research of models related to finance and enforcement analytics
- Analyze processes and their associated risk, with the goal of recommending process improvements and potential changes to mitigate risk
- Communicate analysis in oral and written formats for both technical and non-technical audiences to respond to immediate, shorter-term, and long-term client and colleague requests
- Lead analyses including data processing and cleaning, data transformation, integration, and linkage of disparate data sources
- Lead hypothesis testing and apply quantitative techniques (e.g., descriptive and inferential statistics, sampling, experimental design) to assess the validity of source data and develop strategic insights from large data sets
- Lead development, testing, documenting, operation, review, and validation of complex econometric forecasting models based in SAS, R, Python, and/or Stata
- Collaboratively maintain code version control in Git
- Lead data visualization, dashboarding, and/or report generation in Tableau, PowerBI, etc.
- Design and lead scenario analyses in support of policy initiatives or stress testing
- Document technical details of your work clearly to facilitate collaboration with other team members and ensure quality control
Requirements for this position include:
- A degree in a quantitative field such economics, statistics, applied mathematics and experience, preferably in a federal agency or for a professional services firm
- A Bachelor's degree, 3 years of related work experience
- Demonstrated experience leading tasks in a client-service environment, particularly those related to working with economic models and forecasting
- Demonstrated ability to draw conclusions from analysis and communicate them to technical and non-technical stakeholders
- Leadership experience with a team of one or more management consulting analysts
- Strong communication skills, including presentation of data and results in Excel/VBA, MS PowerPoint, and/or reports
- Knowledge of programming languages preferred (e.g., SAS, R, Python)
- U.S. citizenship (our work with Federal clients limits our hiring to U.S. citizens only)
Preferences for this position include:
- Experience in Machine Learning
- Masters Degree in a quantitative field
- Slight preference for candidates are willing to occasionally work in our Washington, DC office to attend client meetings in person
