Summary
Under the general direction of the Executive Director and program staff, the Program Assistant/Coordinator provides operational and administrative assistance and support to assigned programs and/or program staff. This is a full time position with a comprehensive benefits package.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
The Program Assistant/Coordinator is responsible for providing a variety of operational, administrative, communications, information management, logistical, and clerical support services. Responsibilities of the Program Assistant/Coordinator include, but are not limited to:
- Conducting research, collecting, analyzing, and presenting data
- Developing reports, presentations, correspondence, and program/project materials
- Organizing, scheduling, preparing for, and participating in meetings and events, and maintaining calendars
- Managing correspondence, including internal/external mail, telephone and voice messaging, and general telephone, email, and in-person inquiries regarding programs and services
- Organizing, managing, and maintaining files and other records
- Processing applications for program services
- Approving program applications or providing approval recommendations to other program staff
- Assisting in the development and evaluation of programs that support the mission, vision, goals and objectives of the organization
- Assisting in the management of field service and other contracts and vendor relationships
- Assisting in program and grant management, compliance, and reporting
- Assisting in the development of program policies, procedures, and protocols
- Managing special projects, as assigned
- Providing other administrative and office management support, as needed
- Providing quality customer service to internal and external stakeholders and the general public
- Perform other related duties as assigned
The Program Assistant/Coordinator may be required to represent the SCLB in the community and regularly interact with local, state, federal, nonprofit, and private, stakeholders and the public, and will be required to perform any other duties or functions that may be necessary and in the best interests of the efficient operations of the SCLB.
Education and/or Experience
This is an entry-level position. High school diploma or GED required. Bachelor’s degree and relevant experience preferred. A combination of relevant education and experience may be considered.

Travel
The Program Assistant may be required to travel to local project sites and, occasionally, to attend conferences, training, meetings, and other events, to acquire and maintain proficiency in fulfilling the responsibilities of the position.
Estimated Salary: $35,000 to $40,000, Annually
