SALARY RANGE: $39.91 – 55.92/hourly
Minimum Qualifications
- Graduation from high school with some course work emphasis in secretarial skills and general office procedures; AND
- Two (2) years of experience of specialized training directly related to budgeting and financial compliance; AND
- Ten (10) years of experience related to above or similar duties within the court or legal system; OR
- An equivalent combination of education and experience.

- Orientation Pay Increase - up to 3% increase at the successful completion of six-month orientation period
- Oversees and manages the day to day operation of the office, supervise and manage the affairs of the Justice Court including personnel, small claims and criminal divisions, collections, maintenance, security and other such relevant programs and operations. Manage case flow and organization; ensure civil and criminal are dealt with in an effective and efficient manner.
- Determine work projects and delegates assignments; assist in the development of the department budget; monitors compliance with budget limitations through Auditor’s Office; reports all criminal convictions to Drivers License Division and Bureau of Criminal Identification.
- Current state computer system technical on site operator and performs updates and training to court personnel. Oversee all state computer system; direct contact with the State of Utah on the current state computer system software and state court computer programs and systems.
- Supervises and directs the recording of all court proceedings, responsible to performs weekly back-ups and downloads, securely stores and archives recordings and provide recording copies when requested. Attends all mandatory meetings as assigned.
- Prepares and submits monthly financial reports to the Justice Court Judge, County Auditor, Treasurer and Manager for review and as required for submission to the State of Utah and required political subdivisions or agencies. Performs daily receipting and bank deposits. Tracks and reconciles the bail trust account and prepares monthly report.
- Responsible for all new hire training and assists with discipline and corrective action of clerks as necessary. May help with performance evaluations.
- Responsible for all accounting and financial control implementation for the Justice Court. Daily balancing and adjustments shall be the responsibility of the Court Administrator but may be delegated to other clerks under her supervision and subject to her review and training. Is the primary contact person and facilitates the review of court records by the county’s independent auditors annually.
