What are the responsibilities and job description for the Cyber Fraud Analyst position at Summit Credit Union?
Essential Functions
- Member support
- Contacts members to verify suspicious activity related to alert notifications. Make decisions on accounts that may impact account holder access until the activity is confirmed.
- Inbound and outbound contact with members via the contact center queue and ad hoc
- Capture all details relating to fraud cases for further research.
- Communicate with members on actions taken, provide advice, and support members through the fraud situation they are experiencing.
- Acting as part of the cyber fraud team, but also an extension of the member service team
- Contacts members for additional information as needed.
- Fraud team support
- Analyze fraud trends and take necessary action to prevent further fraudulent activity. Take prompt and necessary action on member-facing digital systems to develop, recommend, and implement risk strategies to mitigate and reduce loss.
- Systems
- Review systems daily to ensure function and alignment with fraud prevention strategies.
- Performs administration in member contact systems to facilitate the blocking of fraud for a single account or groups of accounts. May perform parameter or rule changes that impact the entire membership.
- Facilitate system communication with members.

- Fraud detection Data analysis
- Through member contacts, surface fraud cases.
- Working with the Cyber Fraud team, technical and operations teams in the credit union utilize data analysis to uncover fraud and take action or contact members.
- Understands and is accountable for executing all job functions in a way that is consistent with all requirements of BSA, OFAC and the USA Patriot Act/Customer Identification Act (CIP).
Note: Failure to comply with requirements may be subject to strong disciplinary action, up to and including termination by the credit union, as well as civil and criminal penalties.
Additional Functions
- May require occasional work outside of standard business hours for project and support activities.
- Assist with additional projects and other duties as assigned by departmental leadership.
Job Specifications
- 2 years of professional experience in information security areas such as cyber fraud of information security.
- Associate degree in information systems, security, computer science or a related technical field of study preferred.
- Demonstrated strong technical acumen through technical certification(s) preferred.
- Experience with operating system internals and security controls such as Linux and/or Windows.
- Experience with data tools, like Splunk, is a plus.
- Stays abreast of cyber fraud trends, relevant regulations, and compliance standards
- Professional well developed soft skills essential for professional interactions with credit union members and all levels of staff under normal and adverse circumstances.
- Ability to analyze situations, solve problems, and possess strong decision-making skills
- Ability to prioritize tasks, manage time and projects with resources from within and outside department.
- Requires detailed, team oriented working style.
- Strong communications, writing and editing skills needed to transfer information to individuals involved in systems support process
- Ability to communicate clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences
- Ability to write policies and procedures; ability to prioritize work and meet deadlines

Salary : $60,500 - $76,600
