What are the responsibilities and job description for the SCHOOL-AGE PROGRAM TEACHERS position at SUMMIT Early Learning?
Effectively lead and teach groups of children in SUMMIT’s Centers for School-age Development (CSD) before- and after-school program, in compliance with all applicable regulations for enrolled children.
QUALIFICATIONS: An Associate degree (highly preferred) or its equivalent in early childhood education, child development, special education, elementary education, or human services; must have an interest in child development and a flexible personality, as well as enjoy variety in daily work routines. Must have the desire and ability to work with culturally, ethnically, and socio-economically diverse populations, be able to work independently, and have excellent verbal and written communication skills.
RESPONSIBILITIES: Effectively lead and teach groups of children in the CSD before- and after-school program, per agency and childcare regulations. Manage the overall functioning of each day’s activities and routines; supervise assistant teachers and substitutes and create a general, developmentally appropriate classroom plan to meet group and individual needs.
LOCATIONS:
INDIAN VALLEY ELEMENTARY SCHOOL: 125 Kish Road, Reedsville, PA
HOURS & SALARY: full time position, 40 hours/week, $14.09 – $16.52/hour, school year calendar; Summer Camp hours available
Rate of Pay: based on education/experience
CDA in School Age: $14.09 – $14.66/hour
Associate degree in ECE or related field: $14.64 – $15.23/hour
Bachelor’s degree in ECE or related field: $15.88 – $16.52/hour
