JOB TITLE: Controller
Job Classification: Full Time, Exempt
Department: Accounting
Reports to: Chief Accounting Officer
Education requirements:
· Associate or Bachelor Degree in Accounting required.
Experience or Skill requirements:
· Prior accounting experience preferred.
· Prior management experience preferred.
Duties:
· This employee’s primary responsibility is to understand the accounting framework of the company, and assist with and review/ensure that all accounting tasks and reporting are performed timely and accurately.
· Manage accounting department staff
· Administer and enforce accounting policies and procedures
· Lead all general ledger related projects
· Work with other departments on general ledger integrity
· Manage Day 2 accounting of loan valuation adjustments
· Provide support to Financial Reporting including accompanying financial footnotes
· Responsible for the accounting entries of the parent company and nonbank subsidiaries and performing consolidation duties at month end and quarter end
· Oversee the company’s accounts payable function
· Approve material accounts payable invoices
· Coordinate and oversee journal entry approval in the company’s core processing system
· Assist with audit and regulatory requests for information
· Other duties as assigned
