Overview

The Peak Ready Mix Plant Manager is responsible for the Safe, Quality, and Efficient management of the respective facility, its employees, and production of concrete at said location. This role will also include operating equipment on site, operating a mixer offsite when required, supporting as a backup Plant Manager for other sites when needed, and maintaining assigned batch plant yard.

Essential Job Functions:

  • Safety: Oversight of all employee’s, visitors, and concrete batching equipment.
    • Sharing and stressing the importance of safety and efficiency expectations via weekly safety meetings and maintain/upload safety related documentation.
  • Production: Efficiently batching quality concrete for on time delivery.
    • Monitors loading and tempering time; working with the Mixer Drivers to arrive on each jobsite in a timely fashion.
    • Manager will be required to not just load, but deliver concrete when the occasion calls for it.
  • Quality Control: Maintain and test outgoing concrete products.
    • Assesses the quality of materials pre and post-delivery
    • Visually check loads leaving the yard
    • Test Air, Slump, Cylinders, and Temperatures of outgoing concrete daily. First load of the morning, random load in the afternoon, and all spec loads for commercial and CDOT work.
  • Inventory: Ordering and tracking of incoming and outgoing materials.
    • Asist in administrative duties including running reports for end of month inventory.
  • Maintenance: Perform thorough plant inspection, coordination with operations managers, and preventative/routine maintenance projects.
    • Daily review of pre-shift inspection checklists to ensure equipment is functioning properly.
    • Estimating repair projects and ordering replacement parts for said task; taking into consideration best cost and value.
    • Executing plant repairs from minor to major projects.
    • Developing a consistent preventative maintenance, and equipment inspection routine.
    • Delegating appropriate maintenance tasks to Mixer Drivers as needed.
  • Cost Control: Manage all on site equipment, and labor for proper overhead control.
    • Research best costs for replacement parts, and plant improvement projects.
    • Time management regarding plant, and driver labor.
    • Assist with task delegation when delivery is slow.
  • Housekeeping: Manage a clean well-maintained plant/property to ensure employee safety.
    • Strict adherence to 5S implementation: policies, inspections, documentation, and upkeep.
  • Monitor daily plant operations using ideas from data/observations to improve plant efficiency, environmental compliance, and/or productivity.
    • Processing all paperwork related to your operational facility and employees associated with it.
  • Communicate with Sales, Dispatch, Drivers, and Quality Control personnel regarding daily operations.
  • Oversight of and Assistance to Mixer Drivers and Material delivery drivers reporting to the plant.
