Summit Medical Group is seeking a Billing Specialist. This is a full-time opportunity.

Responsibilities:
(List does not include all duties assigned)
  • Updates patient account information continuously, so records reflect the most updated information possible.
  • Attends training and other meetings as appropriate; keeps current on revisions related to registration and computer skills.
  • Obtains all required hospital patient information utilizing secure access to hospital patient records.
  • Assists with obtaining authorization numbers from insurance companies and hospitals.
  • Assists with other office functions, such as answering phones, taking messages, registering patients, filing charge sheets, patient information log and sorting the mail, as requested.
  • Communicates with insurance companies, patients and physicians as necessary.
  • Maintains work area in neat and orderly manner.
  • Assists in ordering and monitoring supplies, as requested.
  • Maintains strictest confidentiality both internally and externally.
  • Actively participates in site-level Quality Improvement Activities. Each employee will contribute to the continual evaluation site performance as well as the implementation and measurement of improvement activities that increase the quality of care provided to patients.
  • Performs related work as assigned.
Qualifications:
Education: High School Diploma or GED required.

Experience:
One year experience in a medical billing office setting preferred
