Job Summary

Provides moderately complex administrative and budgetary support for assigned grants in compliance with federal, state, and industry guidelines and grant sponsor terms and conditions. Conducts funding searches and assists in researching and writing grants. Maintains a positive work environment that promotes Summit Pacific values.


Job Specific Duties and Responsibilities

  • Assists in researching funding opportunities and writing concept papers, letters of interest, abstracts, and grant proposals. Maintains a database of funders, opportunities, and awards.
  • Supports proposal development through research of evidence-based practices and relevant field innovations.
  • Develops subcontracts or agreements with potential sub awardees or contracts.
  • Coordinates subcommittee activities, interviews and events and related logistics. Facilitates meetings, types up minutes, and documents follow-up actions as necessary to ensure objectives are met.
  • Ensures that all grant information and records are kept in an accurate, complete, and timely manner. Maintains grant proposal, award, and contract documents, in collaboration with the finance division. Establishes and maintains tracking mechanisms as necessary for grant management and reporting. Tracks grant milestones and deliverables; writes reports and provides status updates and/or other records, as required/requested.
  • Assists with the ongoing evaluation of grant program processes and procedures; participates in process improvement activities.
  • Performs special projects and other related duties as assigned.

Organizational Responsibilities

Required Education and Experience

  • Associate degree in business, communications, or related field; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Bachelor’s degree preferred.
  • Five years of administrative experience, including at least two years performing moderately complex activities requiring a high-level of accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Experience writing, tracking, and monitoring grants in healthcare or a related environment, is strongly preferred.

Required Knowledge, Skills, Abilities

  • Advanced administrative and clerical skills; strong organizational skills; ability to prioritize, and reprioritize, work as needed to meet objectives and deadlines.
  • Professional and effective written and verbal communication skills. Ability to identify and employ communication strategies appropriate to the audience. Grammar and punctuation skills as needed to compose professional documents.
  • Proficient in the use of current technology and software, including intermediate to advanced Microsoft Office skills (Word, Excel, and Outlook). Ability to quickly learn and develop mastery with new technology and software.
  • Experience applying and explaining complex information. Proven ability to handle confidential information with discretion.
  • Ability to develop and maintain professional and accurate documentation, records and reports, in a timely manner.
  • Strong process improvement orientation and skills; ability to anticipate needs/issues and identify potential solutions.
  • Ability to build and maintain effective professional working relationships. Demonstrated customer service, teamwork, and collaboration skills.
  • Ability to work independently, using good judgment and problem-solving skills.
