We are looking for a Branch Operations Officer for our Main Santa Rosa Branch. This is an advanced, in-branch position that assists branch management in overseeing daily customer service and operations functions of the assigned branch ensuring smooth and efficient branch operations, directing daily operations of the branch, scheduling staff, assigning duties and ensuring all activities are completed as required. The Branch Operations Officer may act as the Branch Supervisor approximately 33% of the time, in the absence of the Branch Manager . This position is eligible for our incentive program in addition to regular wages.
Supervisory
- Educate staff in bank policies, procedures, tasks, banking regulations, and bank products and services.
- Ensure appropriate internal controls are in place and practiced mitigating risks.
- Ensure bank policies and procedures are properly practiced .
- Review reports and other documentation or computer screens to validate accuracy of activities.
- Interact with peers to ensure consistency of operational procedures in all branches.
- Research and resolve issues related to branch operations.
- Make decisions pertaining to transactions and daily operations which are beyond the authority of teller and new account staff.
Cash Management
- Maintain total branch cash at the lowest limit necessary to meet the needs of the branch, scheduling shipments and cash orders as needed.
- Ensure cash limits are observed, teller and branch cash is balanced daily, and cash differences are researched and resolved.
- Ensure that cash is handled in a secure and, when in the public areas of the branch, discrete manner.
Customer Relations
- Provide a welcoming atmosphere and ensure that the highest level of customer service is provided by self and branch staff.
- Promote bank products and services and ensure that all branch staff promote bank products and services.
- Oversee and participate in customer retention calling efforts to provide excellent customer service, to cross-sell products and services, and to gain referrals.
- Perform teller, vault, new account, and item capture duties, as needed.
- Respond to customer inquiries; research and resolve customer issues.
- Make overdraft decisions in the absence of or at the direction of the Branch Manager.
Administrative
- Keep Branch Manager informed of significant issues.
- Keep informed about current and changing operational, legal and regulatory issues which may impact policies and procedures.
- Oversee branch facilities issues as directed by the Branch Manager.
Branch Reviews
- Review operational activities of branches for adherence to established procedures and to promote consistency between branches.
- Document operational reviews performed, report results to management, follow-up for resolution.
- Work with the Branch Manager to resolve inconsistencies or lack of adherence to procedures.
Special Assignments
- Participate in special assignments such as providing instruction to staff concerning software releases or other subjects, creating and documenting procedures, researching information.
- May be assigned lead role in products or projects; for example, online banking management, implementation of document imaging, revision of Business Continuity Plan, etc.
Other Duties
- Cross-train in other duties as directed.
- Assist with various operational tasks performed in the branch.
- Callback and approve Horizon maintenance completed by branch staff.
- Approvals on iAcquire reports indicates an audit was performed, and proper documentation was obtained. (examples: new account setups, vesting changes, change of signers)
Only candidates with an advanced level of banking knowledge with at least five years of banking experience will be considered. Candidates must have extensive banking experience in the areas of: cash handling and balancing; customer service; developing customer relationships and business; account analysis; internet banking and bill payment; wire transfers; reconcilement processes; ACH activities; ATM activities; internal controls; regulatory and legal requirements; proficient computer skills; and all other branch operational activities. Candidates must exhibit superior customer service skills and fine attention to detail.
