We have an exciting opportunity open for a Marketing Coordinator based in either Little Rock, AR, Fort Smith, AR or Yarmouth, ME with the ability to work remote from a location in close proximity to one of the three mentioned locations.
POSITION SUMMARY:
Summit Utilities, Inc. is looking for a Marketing Coordinator who enjoys engaging with people and sharing information on social media, community management, keeping organized, has an eye for design, and thrives in a fast-paced environment! The ideal candidate for the position takes direction well and then works to make things happen! Once given a task or assignment, the candidate must execute with creativity and attention to detail. We’re looking for someone that’s a natural storyteller, who can write content with impeccable grammar and punctuation. Skills and experience in social media management tools are a plus. We’re looking for someone who can help encourage engagement and educate the public about our industry. The position is highly team-oriented, so excellent collaboration and communication skills are a must. The candidate that fills this role needs to have a broad range of skills and a flexible attitude to do what needs to be done to accomplish team goals and meet company objectives. The Marketing Coordinator will work closely with our Marketing Associate, Director of Marketing, Creative Director, Communications/PR team, as well as collaborate with other departments. The position requires taking direction and guidance on team projects, then working to carry out duties as assigned. The position will execute day-to-day tasks, specifically with social media, tied to large-scale marketing plans that support the overall objectives and goals of the organization. The role will assist in item reordering such as promo items, keeping brochures and flyers well stocked, in addition to helping with event/vendor booth set up for trade shows or hiring/recruitment occasions, and taking photos at company gatherings or volunteer opportunities. The role will aid in processing invoices or budget management, light design edits as needed, and other tasks or delegated undertakings to support the department.
PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Social Media Channel Management:
- Duties tied to social media include creative writing, editing, and design skills.
- Takes lead from Marketing Associate or Director of Marketing to create content and topics for social calendar; creates and schedules original copy and graphics, posts message across all social channels for 6 brands.
- Aids in reputation management by monitoring social media channels for comments, reviews and messages in tandem with the Customer Service Department.
- Generates dynamic conversation in an informal, conversational style and supply additional audio, visual material, related web resources to maintain ongoing dialogue with social media followers.
- Tracks progress and analyzes social performance of channels
- Current on social media best practices, industry trends, new technology software, and services.
- Update trackers of specific messaging for Energy Efficiency and Safety messages.
- Aids in growth and engagement for social media communications: followers, content sharing, increase response time to messages and comments, etc.
- Provides assistance and support to create monthly social media calendars in advance that highlight industry observances as well as holidays, events, and more. Monitors posts and content to report on as-needed basis analytics, campaign success, and noteworthy metrics and findings. Makes recommendations for future posts and campaigns to increase performance.
- Respond to inquiries and comments in a timely manner across digital platforms: Next Door, Bing, Yelp, Google
- Assist with customer communications, promotional, educational, and collateral material for social sharing, blog posts, emails, and other customer communications.
- Assist with ad placement for regulatory and safety notices.
- Writes blog content or website copy as needed that relate to corresponding social posts
- Traffic coordinator – Aids in streamlining workflows and processes in the Marketing Dept. Aids in ensuring that projects, jobs, print items, and processes are moving smoothly.
- Supporting and working collaboratively with internal teams to creatively tell and elevate Summit’s brand and story through various communications platforms.
- Support additional Marketing, Communications, Corporate Affairs, and Sustainability projects as needed.
EDUCATION AND WORK EXPERIENCE
- Bachelor’s degree (B.S.) in communications, marketing, public relations, journalism, photo/video editing and design, or other related fields.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in marketing, public relations, journalism, or communications industry field preferred.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILITIES
- Proficiency and knowledge in social media platforms
- Creative writing, content research, and proofreading skills
- Driven individual with a passion for excellence
- Polished interpersonal/communication skills including excellent verbal skills
- Preferred- experience with digital media or design platforms for creative design
- Preferred- knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite and/or Canva
- Knowledge of social media management tools such as Hootsuite or Sprout Social
- Experience with CRM communication tools is a plus
- Strong written communication skills
- Exhibits high level of attention to detail
- Strong organizational skills.
- Ability to work well with a diverse group of individuals to achieve goals.
- Known for ability to work well with others as the position requires a great deal of collaboration across departments and with a diverse group of individuals.
- Ability to handle many tasks and duties at the same time.
