Summus Healthcare is adding a Medical Assistant to our primary care practice in Decatur, TX. If you provide friendly, reliable, and skilled medical assistance - we're looking for you.
Our medical assistants work closely with our healthcare providers to record patient histories, help with examinations, and manage patient inquiries, medication refills, and more.
Compensation:$16. - $19 hourly
Responsibilities:- Document the patient’s vital signs including respiration rate, blood pressure, respiration rate, and pulse and write down the information in their chart
- Get examination rooms ready for patients by ensuring the rooms are well-stocked and at a comfortable temperature and all equipment is sterilized
- Assist healthcare staff with examinations by handing the appropriate medical instrument and supplies to the physician, positioning the patient, and helping with other tasks as needed
- Prior experience as in a medical assisting role performing administrative duties or similar position in a healthcare work environment is preferred
- Solid communication and customer service skills
- Ability use a computer to complete administrative tasks
- Completed an accredited medical assisting program and an externship in a supervised healthcare setting
