Overview:

Sun Construction & Facility Services, Inc is actively pursuing concrete finishers to fill several key positions within our company. Qualified individuals will be expected to perform all aspects of concrete prep and installation. Concrete finishers work under the direction of the concrete supervisor/foreman, to sawcut and demo existing concrete, perform site prep and cleanup, set forms, install reinforcement, pour and finish concrete. Projects will include casting utility trenches, equipment and utility pads, slab on grade, sidewalks, curb and gutter, stairs, footings and foundations, and other misc. projects.

Primary Responsibilities:

· Responsible for following Sun Construction’s safety policy and working safely at all times.

· Contribute to daily job safety analysis and toolbox talks.

· Set a strong example in safety and work ethic for others to follow.

· Follow verbal and written directions of site supervision.

· Saw cut and demo concrete as project requires.

· Earthwork to prepare site to receive concrete.

· Build and set forms.

· Place and tie rebar/install wire mesh as needed.

· Actively participate in the pouring, spreading, and smoothing of concrete.

· Hand trowel surface and edges to required finish.

· Clean all tools and equipment.

· Remove forms.

· Perform daily and end of project site cleanup.

Skills and Qualifications:

· 3 years’ experience in concrete finishing in a commercial/industrial setting.

· Must have reliable transportation to your job site.

· Physical demands include, but are not limited to balancing, kneeling, crawling, crouching, and reaching. Also, digging, lifting, pushing, and pulling various weights up 50-100 pounds.

· Must have your own hand tools. List to be provided.

· Must be able to operate typical concrete related power tools and equipment: circular saw, hammer drill, walk behind and hand held concrete saw, jack hammer, power trowel and screed, plate compactor, tamper, and others.

· 7 Year background check and substance abuse screening.

· Willingness to work as a part of Sun Construction’s general workforce as needed.
