We’re currently seeking an Industrial Painter who is experienced in applying paint, coatings, and other finishes to various industrial surfaces for our branch in Liverpool, NY.
Key Responsibilities:
- Surface Preparation: Prepare surfaces for painting by cleaning, sanding, masking, and priming as necessary.
- Paint Application: Apply paint, coatings, and sealants using brushes, rollers, spray guns, or other appropriate tools and techniques.
- Color Matching: Mix paint to achieve desired colors and textures, ensuring consistency and uniformity across surfaces.
- Quality Control: Inspect finished work to ensure adherence to specifications, quality standards, and customer requirements.
- Safety Compliance: Follow safety protocols and guidelines to protect oneself and others from hazards associated with painting materials and equipment.
- Equipment Maintenance: Clean, maintain, and troubleshoot painting equipment to ensure proper functioning and longevity.
- Documentation: Maintain accurate records of work performed, including materials used, time spent, and any relevant observations or recommendations.
- Team Collaboration: Coordinate with colleagues, supervisors, and other stakeholders to meet project deadlines and achieve desired outcomes.
- Continuous Improvement: Stay updated on industry trends, best practices, and new technologies related to painting and surface finishing.
This position works a day shift. We do work some nights, evenings & weekends as needed to accommodate a particular customer's needs. There is travel to job sites.
Required Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent; vocational training or certification in painting or related field preferred.
- Valid Driver’s License
- Proven experience as an industrial painter or similar role, with a strong portfolio demonstrating proficiency in various painting techniques.
- Knowledge of different types of paint, coatings, and surface preparation methods.
- Familiarity with safety procedures and regulations governing industrial painting operations.
- Ability to work independently or as part of a team, with good communication and interpersonal skills.
- Attention to detail and a commitment to producing high-quality workmanship.
- Willingness to undergo additional training or certification as required by the employer or regulatory agencies.
- Must pass fit for duty physical with the ability to climb, twist, kneel, bend, push and pull without difficulty
Highly Preferred
- OSHA 40-hr HAZWOPER certification
- Confined Space Entry Certification
- Use of Aerial Equipment and/or Scaffolding
