The opportunity:
The Data Intake Consultant is supporting Health and Risk Solutions within Claims Services. This position is responsible for developing and maintaining automated, sustainable solutions to accurately and efficiently process and track big data – related to both production data and reporting – in accordance with Claims Services processes.
The Claims Services Data Intake Consultant will analyze existing data solutions and utilize technical skills to provide additional automation, organize and display key performance metrics. The position will work closely with the Claims Services Associate Director and Senior Manager to ensure that these automated solutions are thoroughly tested and accurately account for all client scenarios; creating sustainability and implementing automated controls where available.
How you will contribute:
- Troubleshoot data issues while maintaining the integrity of the original data received
- Understands stop loss insurance and claims data received including both medical and RX feeds
- Possess expert Excel skills to develop sustainable resolutions to process Claims Services’ tasks accurately and efficiently
- Process confidential data and information according to guidelines
- Document and clearly communicate instructions for template use and revisions; following up on changes to ensure end results are in accordance with current practices
- Manage master data set
- Develop and maintain centralized reports derived from various existing sources
- Understand the current data environment and can proactively create solutions for business process changes
- Generate reports from single or multiple systems
- Provide technical expertise on data storage & data mining
- Create valid continuous improvement ideas and solutions, implementing solution after receiving management’s approval
- Automate team dashboards and other documents as necessary
- Present data solutions and train end users accordingly
- Clearly document instructions and revisions for all end users
- Meet with Associate Director regularly to communicate improvements, concerns & opportunities to develop additional efficiencies
- Ability to work with a diverse range of people
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment, managing deliverables within deadlines
- Results oriented and resourceful with strong analytical skills
- Understands the importance of accuracy when processing data received and uses technical skills to appropriately provide consistent handling by end users
- Incorporates a continuous improvement mindset in everyday work
- Proficient knowledge of medical claims data and claims processes
- Highly organized with ability to independently manage time
- A strong ability to communicate to various technical levels and present, both verbally and written
- Consistently presents positively during team discussions.
- Continuously looks to improve his/her skills by engaging in development opportunities.
- Ability to build partnerships and influence across the organization to achieve results
What you will bring with you:
- BS/BA degree in computer science/engineering or economy with experience preferred in programming
- ETL programming experience, Visual Basic .Net or C Sharp, R and/or Python programming experience a plus
- Manipulate data with complex Excel, SQL, SSIS (preferred) and Talend
- 3 years advanced experience with MS Excel, object-oriented programming and SQL scripting

Southern region: 53,200-76,200 annually
Central region: 56,100-84,200 annually
Northern region: 60,000-90,000 annually
If you are a Colorado resident, the salary range for this position is 50,800-76,200
If you are a New York resident, the salary range for this position is 60,000-90,000 annually
If you are Washington resident, the salary range for this position is 56,100-84,200 annually
