We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Teamster/Wrangler to join our lodge team. As a Teamster/Wrangler, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth operation of our lodge facilities, particularly in managing and caring for the horses used for various activities. This position requires a combination of strong teamwork, animal handling skills, and a deep understanding of lodge operations.
Responsibilities:
Horse Care:
- Feed, groom, and provide general care for horses.
- Monitor and maintain the health and well-being of all lodge horses.
- Administer necessary medications and treatments under veterinary guidance.
Trail Riding:
- Lead trail rides for lodge guests, ensuring a safe and enjoyable experience.
- Instruct guests on proper riding techniques and safety protocols.
- Conduct pre-ride briefings and ensure all riders are equipped with necessary gear.
Teamster Duties:
- Operate and maintain horse-drawn wagons or carriages for lodge events.
- Assist in the transportation of supplies and equipment around the lodge premises.
Lodge Maintenance:
- Collaborate with lodge maintenance staff for general upkeep and repairs.
- Ensure cleanliness and orderliness of horse stables and related facilities.
Customer Service:
- Interact with lodge guests in a friendly and professional manner.
- Address guest inquiries and concerns regarding horse-related activities.
Safety Compliance:
- Enforce safety protocols and guidelines for both guests and staff.
- Participate in regular safety training sessions.
Equipment Maintenance:
- Maintain and repair horse-riding equipment, saddles, and harnesses.
- Keep track of inventory and report any equipment issues promptly.
Qualifications:
- Previous experience working with horses and a strong understanding of equine care.
- Proven ability to lead trail rides and manage horse-drawn vehicles.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Physical fitness and stamina to handle the demands of outdoor and manual work.
- Basic knowledge of lodge operations and maintenance.
- Customer service-oriented with a positive attitude.
- Willingness to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays.
Education and Certification:
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Certification in equine care or related field is a plus.
