What are the responsibilities and job description for the Dishwasher position at Sun Mountain Lodge?
JOB SUMMARY:
A Dishwasher is primarily responsible for maintaining the cleanliness of all hotel china, silverware, and cookware. This person must have good communication skills and have the ability to lift, pull and push a moderate amount of weight. This is a fast-paced position that will involve constant customer interaction.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES:
The duties you perform are essential to the success of our culinary program.
- Works with servers to ensure exceptional guest service.
- Breakdown, load, unload, catches, and properly sorts all dishes, glassware, and flatware as it is brought to the dish area.
- Wash, sort, and store pots in their proper location on shelves, larger items on the bottom shelves
- Wash, sanitize, properly store large station cutting boards.
- Loads dish washing solutions into automatic dispensers and regulates the output of detergents and chemicals.
- Wash baseboards, floor drains, hand sinks, tables and cutting boards.
- Sweep and mop all floors including walk ins and wash all floor mats.
- Maintain stairwell as well as elevator; sweep, mop, wipe down walls, elevator stainless steel.
- Separate and remove trash, garbage and place in designated containers and steam cleans and hoses out garbage cans.
- Polish silver, copper, and brass pots in all areas, as needed.
- Regular transport of equipment such as hot and cold box, speed racks, Queen Mary, and push carts
- Unloads clean dishes from racks after being processed through dish machine, inspects for cleanliness, and carefully stacks in specified carts and shelves.
- Perform other job-related duties as requested.
- Strictly abide by any applicable County sanitation/Health regulations requirements.
- Maintain hand sinks, soap, paper towels, overall cleanliness.
- Crushes cardboard, removes bales, re-twines for next round.
- Maintain organization of dish pit; lids, Cambros, misc. small wares, hotel pants, bowls etc.
- Ensures cleanliness of dish pit including but not limited to walls, drains, stainless steel, lime away machine, blue shelving racks, and sinks.
Required:
- Must be at least 18* years of age. *Under the age of 18 requires parental approval
- Excellent customer service skills
- Have interpersonal skills to deal effectively with all customers and staff.
- Professional appearance and demeanor
- Work varied shifts, including weekends and holidays.
- Able to effectively communicate in English, in both written and oral forms.
- Other duties as assigned by management.
Preferred:
- Bilingual Spanish a plus but not a requirement.
- Six (6) months of related kitchen experience.
- Previous experience working in a similar resort setting.
Salary : $16 - $17
