What are the responsibilities and job description for the Ski & Ride Scheduling Supervisor position at Sun Valley Resort?
The Scheduling Supervisor is a proactive leader who can optimize instructor staffing levels to meet ever-changing demands and facilitate professional communication between the department and the staff about instructor availability. This position is less than 30 hours per week and will report to the Ski & Ride School Field Operations Manager.
Duties & Responsibilities:
- Serve as the primary point of contact for instructors regarding all scheduling needs
- Request, receive, and organize schedules for all instructors
- Enter & manage instructor schedules in RTP
- Use a priority system to assign instructors to work locations and product type
- Proactively plan for the business demand of peak holiday periods
- Create reports related to staff availability, lesson reservations, and staff performance
- Communicate daily with Baldy and Dollar teams to ensure accurate staffing levels and anticipate future needs
- Coordinate with the Baldy & Dollar Team Leaders to identify appropriate staff for Kids Camp & Adult Workshops
- Coordinate with Supervisors daily to collect and share information about upcoming demand and daily instructor activity
- Coordinate with the Training Manager regarding schedules for trainers, Field Operations Manager to schedule specialty program coaches, and communicate directly with the Ski & Ride School Director, as needed
Qualifications:
- Organizational and analytical skills
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office, RTP and other instructor management tools
- Understanding the relationship between lesson products and instructor attributes to develop an effective staffing plan
