Position Title: Safety Mentor Ambassador Salary/ Hourly: Hourly
General Summary
The Safety Mentor Ambassador is responsible for cultivating, maintaining, and leading a culture of safe work practices for all employees/team members. The Safety Mentor Ambassador should continuously assess proactive programs and efforts designed to eliminate injuries and illnesses. The Safety Mentor Ambassador will also lead employee onboarding and training efforts at the location.
From a safety perspective, success will be achieved by proactively identifying, controlling, reducing, and eliminating exposures.
From an onboarding and training perspective, success will be measured by improved employee/team member retention rates, a reduction in new hire injuries and illnesses, and improved employee engagement!
Requirements Knowledge:
· Must be at least 18 years of age
· High School Diploma/ GED required
· Computer Skills: Proficiency in Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Excel and Outlook
· Communication Skills: Effective verbal & writing skills
· Facilitation skills: Experience in presenting, teaching, facilitation.
· Strong problem-solving skills, data driven with an affinity for data management.
Bilingual preferred.

Principal Duties and Responsibilities:
· Lead training programs at the plant level.
· Lead the orientation program and the hands-on training program.
· Conduct safety walk with new hires their first day in the plant.
· Assess training needs for new employees.
· Verify all hands-on trainings have been completed.
· Contact all new hires daily throughout their first 45 days.
· Track, monitor, report plant injuries and illnesses.
· Lead safety freeze when an injury does occur.
· Assist HR with all safety incident investigations to include root cause analysis.
· Regularly inspect equipment, machinery, and supplies to ensure safe working conditions.
· Develop, lead, and continuously support the Plant Safety Committee.
· Identify, reduce, and eliminate team member frustrations within the production environment.
· Provide feedback and reports to Plant Leadership and Corporate contacts.
· Other duties as assigned.
