Summer Internship - Mechanical/Manufacturing Engineering

  • Assist the Continuous Improvement Engineers with various tasks and projects.
  • Work with Production Techs to find “Pain Points” and reduce or eliminate them.
  • Document process steps and procedures with standard work.
  • Create Value Stream Maps using Visio.
  • Create “Spaghetti” diagrams of product throughout the production process.
  • Process capacity analysis.
  • Evaluate “Current State” and eliminate wastes to create a “Future State” with increased throughputs.
  • Minor design work for fixtures, workstations, and production tools.
  • Collect data, analyze processes, procedures, and performance (equipment or people).
  • Utilize CI tools (i.e., Root Cause Analysis, Value-Stream Mapping, leading Kaizen Events, Gemba Walks, etc.) and make recommendation(s) based upon analysis to further business goals.
  • Support Continuous Improvement initiatives across facility operations to maximize the effectiveness of resources, processes, and technology to drive sustainable results.
