We are seeking a dedicated Float School Nurse to join our team in Westchester, IL, and provide essential healthcare support to various educational settings in the district.
Position: Float School Nurse
Job Description: As a Float School Nurse, you will play a crucial role in promoting the health and safety of students in multiple schools within the Westchester district. Your responsibilities will include:
Healthcare Services: Providing a range of healthcare services to students, such as administering medications, treatments, and first aid as needed. Monitoring students' health conditions and responding promptly to any medical concerns.
Health Assessments: Conducting health assessments and screenings to identify and address potential health issues that may impact students' learning and well-being.
Health Education: Collaborating with teachers, staff, and parents to deliver health education programs on topics like nutrition, hygiene, and general wellness.
Emergency Response: Being prepared to handle medical emergencies and providing immediate care to students when required. Coordinating with emergency medical services and school administration as needed.
Health Record Management: Maintaining accurate and up-to-date health records for students, including documentation of treatments, immunizations, and medical conditions.
Supporting Special Needs Students: Assisting and supporting students with specific health needs, chronic conditions, or disabilities, ensuring they have the necessary accommodations and care during the school day.
Qualifications:
- Current and valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of Illinois.
- Previous experience in school nursing or pediatric nursing is preferred.
- Ability to work independently and adapt to different school environments.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate effectively with students, parents, teachers, and school administrators.
- CPR and First Aid certification.
- Strong organizational skills to manage multiple tasks and school schedules.
