About Us

Mendocino Railway is a short line railroad that has three operations in California. Mendocino Railway operates the world-famous Skunk Train in Fort Bragg and Willits, the River Fox Train in West Sacramento and the Sunburst Train in Santa Paula.

Summary

The Sunburst Train is an entertainment-style railroad that offers a variety of fun and festive excursions. Among the most unique of these excursions are the Santa Paula Railbikes! Our Railbikes are two-seater, motorized and peddle-powered vehicles that ride on the railroad tracks through scenic Ventura County landscapes.

We are searching for an experienced individual who will spend the majority of their time in the field increasing outreach opportunities at the Sunburst Train and Railbikes. The ideal candidate will be highly organized with a keen eye for attention to detail, an excellent communicator, and someone who can work to grow the business.

Role and Responsibilities

· Active acquisition of individual and group leads.

· Follow up, coordination of site visits, for new group business and community partners.

· Develop relationships with a broad range of local businesses, and event/meeting planners.

· Build contact lists.

· Attend and participate in various marketing and tourism related meetings, social events / functions, travel and trade shows.

· Brochure / Collateral delivery. Develop an active plan for outreach to local businesses, stopping at up to 40 places a day and providing rack cards, promos, and collecting business information.

· Manage databases for future follow up and outreach.

· Other tasks as assigned.

Qualifications and Education Requirements

MS Office Suite & Salesforce proficiency.

Public speaking experience.

Ability to drive and provide reliable transportation.

Education:

• High school or equivalent (Preferred)

Experience:

• Customer service: 2 years (Preferred)
• Presentation skills: 1 year (Preferred)
