The Indirect Loan Processor supports a network of 300 dealer partners through indirect contracts. Key responsibilities include processing and disbursing indirect loans in a timely manner to establish memberships. This individual performs all duties in accordance with credit union policies, procedures, and state regulatory guidelines. Responsibilities- Cultivate a positive rapport with consumer loan applicants, dealers, buyers, and sellers
- Communicate the reasons for loan decisions and make alternative recommendations to members and dealerships
- Record additional information necessary to review and decision loan applications
- Facilitate phone calls and electronic communications to answer questions in accordance with established performance standards and benchmarks
- Conduct phone calls in a courteous and timely manner in response to dealerships’, members’, or prospective members’ requests
- Prepare and verify loan documentation, obtain required signatures, and perform loan file maintenance
- Monitor the disbursement of payment to dealers either through ACH or mail, verification of lien perfection, and the release of liens on trade-in titles
- Complete member loan maintenance requests, including extensions, rate buy downs, rate roll downs, due date changes, add or remove ancillary products, and payment recalculations
- Act as Dealer Relations Liaison to review the completion of membership applications, enhance dealer relationships, and ensure funding in a timely manner
- Determine membership eligibility by reviewing documentation provided by prospective members
- Open deposit accounts for potential members and perform account maintenance
- Research and resolve member or dealer concerns
- Perform file maintenance and properly route information for account changes, reconciliations, and error resolutions
- Prepare electronic or mail documentation for indirect vehicle loans to complete the funding and booking of the loan
- Assist Loan Processors and the Indirect Supervisor with loan processing, disbursements, and error corrections
- Monitor and index documents received through email, FedEx, UPS, and other specified document retrieval mailboxes
- Process, close, and disburse ancillary product add-ons loans for members with existing Suncoast Credit Union vehicle loans
- Attend educational events to increase professional knowledge and remain current with compliance guidelines
Qualifications- High school diploma or equivalent
- 2 years of experience as a loan processor with a financial institution
- Proficient math skills to calculate title fees, sales tax, documentary stamps, and loan-to-value ratios
- Good knowledge and understanding of regulatory compliance necessary to successfully perform job responsibilities, including the Military Lending Act, Truth In Lending Act, and FACT Act
- Ability to prioritize tasks, deal effectively with competing and changing priorities to meet deadlines
- Accurate, detail-oriented, and organized with task management
- Ability to analyze and resolve routine problems or situations
- Proficient written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills to interact effectively with members, staff, vendors, and government regulators
- Ability to communicate information requiring explanation or interpretation
- Ability to work independently and in a team-oriented environment
- Must be able to maintain a high level of confidentiality
