Position Summary

Join our dynamic corporate finance team at Boyne Resorts as a Senior Accountant, where you will lead in ensuring financial accuracy, supporting reporting processes, and driving organizational success. Embrace a role that involves diverse monthly accounting functions and offers the opportunity to delve into the exciting worlds of snowsports, golf, and resort industries.

Responsibilities

• Take charge of month-end and year-end close processes, overseeing critical balance sheet reconciliations and journal entries.
• Manage intercompany transactions and reconciliations across multiple entities within the consolidated company.
• Assist with oversight of fixed asset processes to ensure accurate accounting in line with US GAAP by providing the business with proper accounting treatment of fixed asset projects. Assist with all elements of the fixed asset process including fixed asset creation / disposition, roll forwards and reconciliations.
• Review agreements and ensure accounting is in accordance with US GAAP as it relates to leases (ASC 842).
• Collaborate in crafting monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements reports and necessary disclosures aligned with GAAP standards.
• Play a pivotal role in crafting seasonal budgets and forecasts, conducting in-depth analyses of variances to drive informed financial decisions.
• Ensure compliance with internal control procedures and assist in the implementation of new controls as needed.
• Assist in the preparation of tax filings and support external tax consultants as necessary.
• Support annual financial statement audit by collaborating with external auditors to fulfill PBC requests as required.
• Identify opportunities for process improvements and efficiencies in the finance function.
• Support resort accounting teams as needed.
• Perform other related responsibilities as required.
  
  

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance with a preference for CPA certification.
• Demonstrate a minimum of 3 years of progressive experience in accounting or finance roles, with a strong preference for prior public accounting experience.
• Strong knowledge of US GAAP and financial reporting requirements.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and experience with ERP systems (e.g., NAV, NetSuite).
• Excellent analytical skills with a keen attention to detail.
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities in a deadline-driven environment.
• Strong interpersonal communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across functions.
  

Work Environment

A flexible work schedule is necessary. Maintaining an office at a Boyne Resorts location in northern Michigan is desired. When working remotely, an office environment equipped to perform daily job functions and free of distractions is expected. Occasional travel to resort locations is required.
