Accounting Specialist - Accounts Payable

### Overview:

The Accounts Payable Specialist performs a full cycle Accounts Payable position and applies accounting principles to complete payments and controls expenses by receiving, processing, verifying (with appropriate approvals) and reconciling invoices.

### Duties:

Accounts Payable

• Review all invoices for appropriate documentation and approval prior to payment.
• Processes invoices and prepares payments
• Processes credit card statements and obtains relevant approvals
• Maintains files and documentation thoroughly and accurately, in accordance with company policy and accepted accounting practices.
• Cash application/Vendor clearing
• Maintains files and documentation thoroughly and accurately, in accordance with company policy and accepted accounting practices.
• Responds to all vendor inquiries.

Month End Duties

• Verifies vendor accounts by reconciling monthly statements and related transactions.
• Complete reconciliations for various accounts and activities (eg Freight, GRIR)
• Ad hoc support to Accounting Manager

Reporting/Other accounting tasks

• Assist Accounting Manager to perform other accounting duties including 1099 reporting, audit compliance and other tasks

Process Improvement

• Assists Accounting Manager and transactional services team members to design and implement process improvements in Accounts Payable.

### Experience:

To be successful in this role, you should have:

• Knowledge and Understanding of GAAP
• Understanding of General Ledger Accounting (Journal Entries and Reconciliations)
• 3-5 years of Full cycle Accounts Payable experience and/or combination of other Accounts Payable/other transactional accounting experience.
• SAP or similar Accounting Software
• Attention-to-Detail
• Strong Collaboration and Communication Skills (Written and Oral) with internal and external stakeholders
• Strong desire to complete tasks and see projects to fruition within strict timelines.
• Advanced Excel skills.
• Ability to quickly develop skills with new systems/tools.
