Phlebotomist - ATH - Lab - FT- Nights

Education:

• High school diploma/GED. Completion of a Medical Assistant or Phlebotomy training program.

Experience:

• Experience as a phlebotomist in a hospital setting preferred.

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:

• Excellent communication and customer service skills.
• Basic computer skills.
• Basic knowledge of anatomy and physiology and venipuncture techniques.

Licenses/Registrations/Certifications:

• Current WA State Medical Assistant Phlebotomist Certification.
• Current BLS .

Assume the responsibility for performing venipuncture and related procedures on patients of all ages under the philosophy, policies, and procedures established by the hospital and department.

Working Conditions & Physical Requirements:

This position requires regular and recurring physical exertion such as standing or walking for prolonged periods of time; frequent bending, reaching, stooping, kneeling, squatting, crouching, and stretching. The employee must exert 10-20 pounds of force constantly to move objects and must frequently lift and/or move objects up to 40 pounds. Frequent repetitive hand/wrist motions and finger manipulation. Normal/corrected vision and hearing to normal range. Recurring exposure to moderate risks which require special safety and health precautions and the use of Personal Protective Equipment; risks such as exposure to contagious diseases, contaminated bodily fluids, sharp instruments, and other contaminants.
