Responsibilities:
- Administer medications to patients according to prescribed dosages and schedules
- Monitor patients for any adverse reactions or side effects from medications
- Document medication administration and patient responses accurately in electronic medical records systems such as Cerner and Epic
- Collaborate with healthcare professionals to ensure proper medication management and adherence to treatment plans
- Assist with phlebotomy procedures as needed
- Provide support and assistance to patients with special needs in medication management
- Maintain a clean and organized medication storage area
Experience:
- Previous experience as a Medication Technician or similar role in a medical office or acute care setting is preferred
- Familiarity with electronic medical records systems such as Cerner and Epic is a plus
- Knowledge of medication administration procedures and best practices
- Ability to accurately phlebotomize patients when required
