JOB DESCRIPTION
The Hospital Liaison is responsible for growing census at their assigned communities. As a member of the Marketing and Admissions team, the hospital liaison will work closely with hospital discharge planners, physicians, social workers, case managers, and other key entities. The Hospital Liaison will develop and maintain new and currently relationships with referring hospitals as well as key medical personnel.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Build sales relationships by daily interactions with physicians and discharge planners at hospitals to ensure referral/admissions
Developing working relationships within the health care community
Works in conjunction with community on quarterly marketing plans
Maintain sales territory in order to meet census goals. Must be comfortable with sales techniques such as cold calling and contact planning.
Perform pre-admission assessments of the clinical status of patient referrals and evaluation of patient needs.
Works in conjunction with Admissions Director on updating referrals, IRM, pre authorizations when needed, as well as payer information
Serve as an educational resource for patients, families, hospitals and healthcare professionals.
Actively assist the referring and accepting institutions in addressing requirements of specific patients.
Weekly and monthly sales reporting as directed
Understands and communicates critical and/or strategic changes to hospital functions, relationships, programs, and other growth opportunities
Requirements:
RN or LPN Preferred
1 -3 years experience preferred
Comfortable with sales techniques
Must be able to travel 75% of the time on day trips to multiple hospitals in the area
Must have excellent communication and presentation skills
Must have knowledge and understanding of Medicare/Medicaid and Private Insurance benefits
Must possess skills with Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook
Full-time and occasional weekend work
