Senior Financial Analyst

Job Description: Sunovion Pharmaceuticals is looking for a collaborative, highly energetic and results driven professional. This is a new role that will require the ideal candidate to grasp new concepts easily and efficiently, present ideas and help in the design and implementation of the new role. The Sr. Financial Analyst will report to the Associate Director of Financial Planning & Analysis on an interim basis but will also have dotted line responsibility for some tasks for cross functional efficiency and business alignment. The Sr. Financial Analyst position will support financial management activities for the Functional Support cost centers, support the Sunovion Collaboration and License agreement reporting activities and other activities yet to be defined. Essential Functions: Financial management of functional cost centers; including mid- and long-term planning; assist with developing scenarios and monthly LBEs Responsible for monthly close activities of the department and assure adherence to timelines, IFRS, and corporate policies. Responsible for performing year-end audit activities Review of purchase orders and capital appropriation requisitions to assure compliance with the corporate approval policy and verify budget funding availability Timely completion of budget/forecasts including issuance of monthly/quarterly financial report packages for operational managers Maintain high level of business partnering to achieve desired results and business needs Support R&D Finance team with month end closing activities: running PO accrual reports and preparation of variance analysis reports Provide support for the monthly, interim, and quarterly reporting for the Sunovion Collaboration and Licensing Agreements including the booking of monthly/quarterly journal entries Support of departmental key initiatives & objectives Adhoc reporting and analysis as needed Education Level, Knowledge and Skills: Undergraduate degree in Accounting or Finance or a related business discipline MBA from nationally accredited college or university, preferred Public accounting experience preferred but not required 3-5 years work experience in finance/FP&A or related discipline, preferably in an operations-oriented environment Experience in the pharmaceutical industry supporting all aspects of Clinical Development preferred Experience with building financial models Strong excel skills including use of pivot tables, v-lookups, macros, etc. Experience using Hyperion, Smart View/Essbase, and Oracle products is preferred Experience with using Tableau or other related dashboard tools Positive work ethic, excellent communication, collaboration, and organizational skills with a high attention to detail. Ability to communicate effectively across teams.
