The New Jersey Board of Public Utility (BPU) launched a community solar program in 2019 and since has approved 150 solar farm projects of which we have the responsibility to fill the capacity of 28 of these projects throughout the state.
Position Overview:
As a Community Solar Subscriber Specialist, you will be responsible for promoting New Jersey's nation-leading community solar program. The Community Solar Energy Program (CSEP) allows individuals WITHOUT the ability to install solar on their rooftops to access the benefits of solar energy, including significant energy savings. You will engage with potential clients, educate them about the benefits of community solar, and guide them through the enrollment process, which is free and first come first serve until the capacity is filled of all 28 projects.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Prospect and qualify leads through various channels, including cold calling, door-to-door canvassing, networking events, and digital marketing.
2. Conduct consultations with prospective customers to understand their energy needs and demonstrate how community solar can provide cost-effective and environmentally friendly solutions.
3. Present our community solar offerings in a compelling manner, addressing customer concerns and objections effectively.
4. Collaborate with our marketing and operations teams to develop targeted sales strategies and promotional campaigns.
5. Maintain accurate records of sales activities, customer interactions, and pipeline progression using our CRM system.
6. Stay informed about industry trends, regulatory changes, and competitor offerings to adapt sales tactics accordingly.
7. Provide exceptional customer service throughout the sales process and serve as a trusted advisor to clients.
Qualifications:
- Previous experience in sales, preferably in the solar or renewable energy sector.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to build rapport and establish trust with customers.
- Goal-oriented mindset with a track record of meeting or exceeding sales targets.
- Knowledge of solar energy concepts and familiarity with community solar models is a plus.
- Self-motivated and able to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
