SUMMARY

Pre-weighs, and assists with the preparation and development of various Kandesn products based upon given formulas.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

90% of scheduled work time is spent in the pre-weigh area doing the following:

Compiling necessary chemicals with proper tags or labels.

Ensures that chemicals/products are available in the department.

Ensures all items are marked properly with Code No. and Lots No.

Pre-weighs and combines formulas per detailed instructions.

Assures that utensils are clean so a better-quality product is obtained without cross contamination.

Keep clean working environment and follows GMP guidelines.

Delivers chemicals to the Processing Department.

10% of schedule work time is spent learning the following Compounding duties:

Assures that the formulas are completed per formula sheet.

Maintains equipment in good working condition.

Reports to maintenance and supervisor of any equipment malfunction.

Follows instructions step by step for a good quality mixture of formulas in order to obtain good results in the final process.

The above duties vary depending on the different formulas or changes made in the laboratory.

QUALIFICATIONS:

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactory. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required. EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:

High School diploma or general education degree (GED); or six to twelve months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Needs to be tested for forklift driving and certified per company guidelines.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS:

Ability to add and subtract two-digit numbers and to multiply and divide with 10's and 100's. Ability to perform these operations using units of American money and weight measurement, volume, and distance.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, walk, and talk or listen. The employee is occasionally required to use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls; climb or balance; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl; or smell.

The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 500 pounds by using a pallet jack, or other equipment, and/or with the help of others. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, and the ability to adjust focus.

WORK ENVIRONMENT:
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally exposed to fumes or airborne particles of caustic chemicals.

The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
