Job Summary and Qualifications

Our Patient Sitters/Transporters function under the supervision of a first line supervisor and perform delegated functions. Duties include: transportation of patients from patient room to appropriate area by wheelchair or stretcher, sitting/monitoring patients that are "High Risk for Falls" and/or risk of injury to self or others. We have an amazing team dedicated to patient care, apply today!

• You will provide health care services, applying techniques of safe and efficient transport of patients, equipment, and supplies such as IV pumps, mail, lab specimens and pharmaceuticals
• You will provide services to neonatal, pediatric, adolescent, adult and geriatric patients
• You will perform duties and responsibilities of all lesser included jobs and performs other duties as assigned
• You will respond to life-saving situations, including but not limited to Code 99, fire and disaster situations
• You will utilize appropriate transporting devices based on direction from nursing staff
• You will assist in proper positioning of patient on bed, gurney or in wheelchair at direction of staff.
• You will deliver specimens of blood/tissue to Laboratory as requested
• You will monitor patients that require additional safety measures, i.e. patients that present behaviors that are self-injurious in nature, behaviors displayed that are potentially injurious to others in person or via camera system and notifies RN as appropriate

What qualifications you will need:

• Graduate from high school or high school equivalent program
• Previous orderly or transporter experience preferred. Will consider training candidate.
• Current Basic Life Support Certification (BLS)
