In-house Legal Counsel

Our corporate office in Livonia, Michigan is currently seeking an In-house Legal Counsel (hybrid work arrangement). This newly created position will focus on transactional work and company-wide process improvement projects. This role is multi-faceted and requires a legal generalist interested in learning about and supporting all areas of our fast-paced business.

Primary Responsibilities:

• Demonstrated experience drafting and negotiating a high volume of commercial agreements.
• Demonstrated experience leading special project teams focused on formalizing corporate processes.
• Fostering successful interactions and communicating with colleagues, outside firms, clients, stakeholders, and the executive leadership team.
• Leveraging resources and quickly adapt to and learn new areas of the business.
• Evaluating and mitigating risk
• Managing a high volume of complex commercial transactions.

Education/Background Requirements:

• 5- 8 years’ experience as a practicing attorney, preferably at a full-service law firm and or corporate legal department (prior in-house experience preferred).

• Excellent attention to detail with strong organizational skills, with the ability to work independently and as part of cross-functional teams
• Excellent oral and written communication skills, negotiation skills, and an ability to identify and address complicated and sensitive matters with creativity and sound judgment
• Entrepreneurial spirit and desire to continuously innovate to achieve great results.
• Experience in agriculture / fresh produce / food industry a plus.

Working Conditions:
