Veterinary Technician

We are a small animal hospital in Clearwater that is growing and looking to add an experienced or certified technician to our team. Our hospital is well established, has new ownership and is newly remodeled. We have 2 doctors that practice progressive medicine and an amazing team that works well together. Services include in house lab machines, digital radiology, cold laser therapy, and ultrasound.

We are looking for a friendly individual with a positive attitude that has great customer service skills. Experience of 1 year as a technician is required. We promote a Fear Free environment and offer Fear Free certification for our staff. We want our patients to love coming to the vet. We treat dogs, cats, and some exotics.

Responsibilities:

  • Assist the veterinarian in exam rooms and documenting in patient medical record
  • Perform venipuncture for phlebotomy and catheter placement
  • Obtain laboratory sample collection, process and interpret results
  • Perform diagnostic imaging
  • Perform anesthesia
  • Prep patients for and assist in surgery
  • Perform dental prophies
  • Administer vaccines and medications (oral, topical, injectable)
  • Fill prescriptions and review directions with clients
  • Communicate with and educate clients
  • Experience with AviMark software a plus

Experience is required for this position. Pay based on experience and certification.

Job Types: Full-time, Part-time

Pay: $18.00 - $20.00 per hour

Expected hours: 25 – 37 per week
