Job Overview:
The Academic and Vocational Skills Manager will assist with educational operations including client's schooling and academic success as well as the Independent Living Program. The Academic and Vocational Skills Manager functions as a role model, adhering to agency standards of practice for staff, clients, and the public.
Duties:
· Participate in conjunction with the L&D Manager and Program Managers
· Manage Independent Skills Program
· Manage and help children 16 with their Independent Living Plans or Reunification Plans
· Support staff and children with school related meetings
· Oversee the Spirit Committee
· Inspect each house using check list form
· Plan and host events with event coordinator
· Maintain and update all Sunshine Canvas courses
· Create and disperse "discharge folders" with Independent Skills information for kids 16
· Supervises Business Services Specialist
· Review and approve timecards/time off requests of your team for bi-weekly payroll
· Other duties as assigned
Skills:
· Master’s Degree in Social Work or a related area of study from an accredited school and at least one year of experience in child welfare or childcare services field. Or possess a Bachelor’s Degree in Social Work or a related area of study from an accredited school and two years of experience in a child welfare or childcare services field.
· Must exhibit strong leadership qualities and establish a cohesive team of behavioral health professionals.
· Presents clean, professional appearance and has supervisory experience.
· Demonstrates strong professional boundaries and a trauma-informed approach to care for children in need.
· Must possess effective written and verbal communication skills.
· Must have a valid Arizona driver’s license, a level one fingerprint clearance as required by the Arizona Department of Economic Security, and a physical examination.
· Maintain current First Aid, CPR, and CPI certification.
· Must meet all agency’s contractor and licensing agent requirements for agency personnel.
· Must be able to work and foster a culturally diverse environment.
· Must be able to be on call weekdays and rotating weekends for house and staffing emergencies
