Job Summary
Reporting directly to Clinical Supervisor, the Supervisee in Social Work, shall provide psychological counseling and other related services to clients for Sunstone Counseling.
Essential Functions and Responsibilities
To perform in this position successfully, an individual must be able to execute each essential core responsibility, satisfactorily. - Perform initial evaluations of client needs and develop customized treatment plans.
- Provide individuals with resources needed to achieve personal goals.
- Consistently monitor client progress and needs; modify treatment plans as needed.
- Participate in weekly peer groups led by supervisors and other clinical staff.
- Properly prepare and execute insurance reporting, clinical notes, intake and discharge notes, safety contract upon client suicidality and any other reasonable services required by Sunstone Counseling.
- Attend weekly individual supervision sessions with Sunstone supervisor to gain clinical support and feedback.
- Assist with any litigation, as required.
- Work in compliance with all Company policies, regulations, and rules to maintain active licensure to practice psychological counseling in the Commonwealth of Virginia.
- Abide by the ethic rules of the National Association of Social Workers, the American Counseling Association and the American Association for Marriage and Family Therapy; if applicable.
- Work only under the direction and supervision of a licensed counselor, licensed psychologist or licensed social worker appointed by Sunstone Counseling.
Qualifications:
Education and Experience Requirements:
- Master’s degree in Social Work.
- Must obtain State Board Approval to work as a Supervisee in Social Work.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
- Strong conflict resolution and crisis management abilities.
- High degree of ethics and a practice of discretion and confidentiality.
- Strong written and oral communication skills. Excellent listening skills required.
- Ability to consider internal and external resources to develop a client treatment plan
- Possess high levels of patience, empathy, and respect.
