WHAT YOU’LL DO:

We are seeking a Service Manager to support and manage our team of Service Technicians. The incumbent will play a critical role in ensuring the efficient and effective delivery of service operations within a designated region. This Service Manager role requires a dynamic individual who can balance technical expertise, leadership skills, and a customer-centric approach to ensure the success of the residential solar service team and contribute to the overall success of the organization. The Service Manager will be responsible for overseeing a team of residential solar service technicians, managing daily service operations, optimizing workforce productivity, and maintaining high standards of service quality. Key responsibilities will include:

Team Leadership:
  • Lead and manage a team of residential solar service technicians.
  • Foster a positive and collaborative work environment.
  • Provide coaching, mentoring, and coordinate training to enhance technician skills and performance.

Operational Oversight:
  • Manage and optimize the daily execution of service appointments, ensuring timely and efficient service delivery.
  • Develop and implement processes to enhance overall service efficiency.
  • Monitor and partner with scheduling to manage technician schedules to maximize productivity and minimize downtime.

Resource Management:
  • Oversee hiring processes for new service technicians.
  • Manage and allocate resources effectively to meet service demands.
  • Monitor and manage overtime to ensure cost-effectiveness and adherence to budget.

Performance Management:
  • Conduct regular performance reviews for service technicians.
  • Establish and communicate performance metrics and goals.
  • Implement corrective action plans when necessary to address performance issues.

Customer Support:
  • Collaborate with internal and third-party customers to understand their service needs and expectations.
  • Address customer inquiries and concerns promptly and effectively.
  • Work to maintain high levels of customer satisfaction.

Collaboration:
  • Collaborate with other departments, including sales and installation teams, to ensure seamless integration of services.
  • Drive cross-functional initiatives to improve efficiency and effectiveness of service operations; including mitigation of service needs.

Reporting:
  • Generate and analyze reports on service performance, workforce efficiency, and customer satisfaction.
  • Provide regular updates to senior management on key performance indicators.


WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR:

  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field (engineering, business, etc.) or equivalent experience.
  • Proven experience in a managerial or supervisory role within the solar industry or a related field.
  • Strong leadership and communication skills.
  • Technical knowledge of residential solar systems and components.
  • Experience with workforce management and scheduling tools.
  • Ability to analyze data and implement process improvements.
  • Customer-focused mindset with a commitment to quality service delivery.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
  • Standing or sitting for prolonged periods of time in an office environment.
  • Requires the ability to operate standard office equipment and keyboards.
  • Must have the ability to walk short distances.
  • Potential light lifting up to 10 lbs.
