SUMMARY
Responsible for the overall profitability and efficient operation of the commercial branch banking division. Assists with the development of annual deposit growth, non-interest fee income growth, while maintaining a consistent focus on customer retention. Establish and implement an annual branch sales and marketing plan to achieve targeted goals. Responsible for ensuring all branches are staffed adequately and with quality employees. Ensure that division staff are trained and focused on sales and customer relations. Conduct coaching and hold Branch Managers accountable for sales practices, profit goals, operational compliance and efficiencies.


ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Provides guidance and support to branches regarding annual goals, adherence to bank operational processes and procedures, as well as, satisfactory regulatory compliance
  • Ensures accurate and timely completion of all operational responsibilities throughout Retail Branches
  • Manage and organize monthly meetings with Branch Managers and Operations group, ensuring cohesiveness and clear expectations
  • Conducts frequent branch visits to ensure consistency in sales and marketing efforts while growing strong professional relationships with branch employees
  • Act as a liaison between Senior Management and Corporate Office.
  • Recruit and retain quality & experienced bankers and support staff.
  • Counsel customers on all products the customer is eligible to obtain ensuring the product recommendations best fit their financial needs.
  • Maintain accurate Pipeline reports for corresponding Branch Offices.
  • Communicates regularly with Branch Managers about the banks strategic vision including customer advocacy. Promote ways to pleasantly surprise customers differentiating the bank from competitors.
  • Manage and monitor the financial performance of the division to ensure a profitable portfolio for the assigned area.
  • Manage the sales performance of each Branch Manager and take measures to improve and support as necessary. This includes observation on sales calls, coaching and recognition.
  • Model sales process and techniques as well as customer advocacy.
  • Establish quarterly, monthly, weekly, and daily sales goals for Branch Managers. Schedule and lead divsion sales meetings.
  • Ensure division staff are trained in sales and service techniques. Model sales process skills and techniques.
  • Demonstrates the highest levels of professionalism, efficiency and customer advocacy throughout the district resolving the customer issues that cannot be resolved by a branch or where another level of authority is required for spectacular recovery.
  • Develop centers of influence in the market that can be leveraged into profitable relationships for the bank.
  • Understand local area trends and issues that affect the Bank and recommend solutions or take action that will respond to those opportunities.
  • Actively look for profitable cross-sell opportunities across business lines.
  • Work closely with Lending Managers to coordinate joint marketing plans and cross-selling efforts and to ensure all employees maintain effective communication and partnership in serving customers.
  • Handle external contacts with employees of other financial institutions, customers, governmental agencies, and other organizations to promote customer service, public relations, and civic activities. In partnership with Retail Banking Manager, provide people leadership for Branch Managers within district.
  • Recruit and develop staff to ensure proper staffing levels to meet sales goals.
  • Ensure accurate and complete performance management reviews and individual development plans are completed on a consistent and timely basis.
  • Complete an annual staffing plan identifying bench strengths and weaknesses and solutions required to improve or support the needs of the district.
  • Create a desirable and rewarding environment where teamwork is celebrated and individuals and teams are recognized for superior performance on a regular basis. Directly manage an assigned branch within the district. Refer to the Branch Manager job description for details.

  • Attends training and maintains a basic knowledge of procedures to ensure compliance with laws and regulations governing financial institutions, as they apply to your position and job responsibilities, with an emphasis on the BSA/AML/CIP, Consumer Privacy, Regulation CC, Information Security, Bank Protection Act, FACT-Identity Theft, Information Technology and GLBA.
  • Additional duties as assigned as it relates to the position
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
  • Five years of management experience is preferred.
    • Must be able to prepare advanced documents using Microsoft Office Suite including word, excel and PowerPoint.
  • Bachelor’s Degree preferred.
  • Good communication skills both written and verbal.
  • Proven ability to work with various levels of staff and management.
