Job Posting for Admissions Advisor at SUNY Buffalo State

The Admissions Advisor position is responsible for managing an assigned recruitment territory; evaluating applicant credentials and rendering admissions decisions; conducting regular, on-going follow-up with pending applications; assisting with the planning and implementation of on and off-campus events; primary organizational responsibility for an assigned project, event or activity; monitoring and reporting progress of prospective students and recruitment goals as requested; conducting individual and group information sessions; recruitment travel.

Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree · Demonstrated experience in college admissions or related area within higher education · Ability to travel overnight and work evenings and weekends up to 10 weeks of recruitment-related travel per semester · Excellent interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills · Strong organizational skills · Use of Microsoft Office suite of products (Word, Excel, Outlooks and Powerpoint) · Must possess a valid driver’s license
Preferred Qualifications
  • Master’s degree · Experience with a student database system (e.g., Banner, Slate) · Experience working with diverse student populations
