SUNY Delhi seeks a dynamic, forward-thinking, and engaging full-time tenure-track faculty member for the Architectural Technology (AAS), Architecture Design and Building (BT) Programs, and Architecture (BArch).
Desirable candidates will have credentials to handle a variety of architecture topics. Some potential course subject areas may include architecture design studios, architectural computer graphics, sustainability, architectural history, professional practice, and building technologies. The faculty member will be expected to perform well in both a lecture setting and in the architecture studio environment. Besides classroom and studio instruction, this faculty member will also serve as an academic advisor, participate in student clubs and their projects, serve on campus committees, and seek other forms of collegiate involvement.
Additional responsibilities include:
Program Development:
- Participate in annual systematic assessment of the program
- Participate in analyzing data and make recommendations for curriculum and programmatic revisions where necessary
Teaching Responsibilities:
- Provide evidence-based instruction in accordance with the policies set forth by the College
- Post and keep regular office hours for the convenience of students
- Participate in the assessment of course, student learning, and program outcomes
- Incorporate student service learning opportunities
Advisement:
- Assist in advisement of students
- Guide and counsel students toward personal and career development
- Track student's completion of progression requirements
Academic & Organization Commitment
- Serve on campus committees
- Mentor Adjunct Faculty
- Special Projects
- Participate in faculty meetings
- Participate in accreditation reviews and reports
- Engage in the academic and organizational life of the college
- Pursue scholarly interest
Job Requirements:
- Earned Ph.D.
- Bachelor of Architecture degree (M.Arch. degree preferred)
- Minimum of 3 years of Professional Architectural Practice
- Strong architectural software skills and experience (i.e., AutoCAD, Revit, Sketch Up, Photoshop, Illustrator, etc.)
- Valid unrestricted driver's license
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
Preferred Qualifications:
- Registered Architect
- Ability to perform research and secure external funding
- Minimum of 3 years Collegiate Teaching Experience
Additional Information:
- Salary: $55,000. DOQ
- This is a 10-month academic year, tenure track position
