As an Office Assistant 1, you would be responsible for:
- data entry
- keyboarding
- answering telephones
- completing forms
- assisting customers
- creating or assisting in the preparation of reports, charts, graphs
- additional clerical and office support tasks
To be successful, you should possess working knowledge of the organizational context of the unit and agency. You would provide administrative support for the Director of Environmental Health & Safety as needed.
Required QualificationsMINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Candidates must have a permanent appointment in an Office Assistant 1, SG-06, classified position; be reachable for appointment on the current NYS Civil Service canvass list for SUNY Geneseo’s area location for an Office Assistant 1, SG-06 position; or be transfer eligible.
NYS Preferred Lists candidates have preference.
Preferred QualificationsPREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Working knowledge of office practices and procedures and the ability to establish effective working relationships with a variety of people at all levels of the organization.
- Ability to use modern office equipment, design and maintain filing systems and prioritize responsibilities.
- Ability to understand and follow instructions and read, write and communicate verbally.
- Dependable, with a reliable time and attendance record.
